Dear Mama friend that stays on the go,
I have a confession. I have bad feet. No seriously, they are bad. Like, bad bad. They ache and hurt and I am the worst at neglecting them. Something about motherhood make me rev up my game and I stood more than ever changing diapers and chasing kiddos to the potty. I wore heels that I hadn’t worn in years because my date nights with my husband are few and far between and I wanted to look Gooooood. I laced up old running shoes that hadn’t beat the pavement in months after carrying twins through a difficult pregnancy and thought I could pick up where I left off running miles and miles with no end in sight. I run around town with a bad pedicure most of the time and in flip flops that offer my feet no support whatsoever. I’ve even had a history of Plantar Fasciitis and put aside my foot exercises because I was just “over it all” and thought instead I’d just grin and bear it – and go among my busy mom day like usual.
So in my usual fashion of being in a miserable state where my feet ached and the thought of walking one more lap around WalMart made me physically ill, I decided that I would heed the advice of my best gal pal who always knows what to do in these situations. She initially suggested a Podiatrist but since I could barely get my calluses scrubbed during a pedicure, I knew I’d never survive a Foot Doctor. My buddy suggested that, at the least, I make my round to the pharmacy department of WalMart and give some of the Dr. Scholl’s a try. Since I was here I thought I might breeze by and take a quick look, but I will admit that I thought these foot insert things are just NOT for me. That’s for old people or someone else – anyone else, because how in the world would you get those things in your shoes and find comfort?
I was sure it was a gimmick and rounded the corner, heels blazing from pain as I made my way to the pharmacy area. I was taken aback when I saw the brightly colored Dr. Scholl’s Kiosk staring right back at me and thought – ok, this might be more than I thought it would be?! The Dr. Scholl’s Kiosk turned out to be PERFECT for this mom. I had tons of questions and absolutely no idea what kind of insert I needed- and I found myself getting a quick custom fit right before my eyes. Reading and talking more with the Pharmacist about the products, I really began to understand the importance of taking care of your feet and thought I would give these inserts that were especially tailored for me – a valid shot.
I have tried these amazing Dr. Scholl’s Custom Orthotic Inserts since being fitted for them through the Custom Fit Kiosk system. To say that they have made a difference in my foot pain and discomfort is an understatement for sure! I can’t believe that I wanted to walk in such misery when this brand was out there, helping hundreds of thousands of people just like me move more comfortably and confidently through life. I can discreetly and easily wear the custom insoles in my running shoes as well as my special heels when date night rolls around. They have a variety of products and I promise you will be able to find an insole that is customized just for you.
