Have you ever tried a protein bar, with hopes that it tasted amazing like a candy bar, and would curb your appetite without the horrid aftertaste of cardboard? Yeah, me too. I had no hope in the protein bar market and pretty much gave up until the awesome folks at Quest Nutrition wanted to change my mind. They recently sent me an awesome package full of their favorite Quest bars for me to try and surprisingly – they are good. REALLY good.
I was blown away at the taste, honestly. First up to bat was the Cookies & Crème bar. It seemed like the one that I would have high hopes to taste like a chocolate bar and not like the cardboard protein I’d had in the past. Surprisingly, it tasted like it had cookie bites in the bar and was sweet, but not too sweet – just a pretty perfect bite.
Other yummy tasting bars that were sent were: Quest Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Quest White Chocolate Raspberry , (my favorite ended up being ) Quest Blueberry Muffin, Quest Smore’s and Quest Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough,
Now for the other important stuff. Quest as a brand has a mission to change the way people eat. They focus on clean eating and have a goal to rid the world of metabolic disease (pretty daring, huh)? All of their protein bars have between 20-21 grams of protein, plenty of fiber, not a lot of crap, and a low amount of carbs. They are also gluten free, soy free, and contain no added sugar.
Coach even took a few and tried them, reporting that he had “never had a protein bar that filled him up that well and helped him to make it through his afternoon practices with such energy”. I’d say that’s a win – win. If you’re in the market to revamp your protein bars or breakfast routines, moms, this bar is the way to go. It can get you through library story time, the park and all the way until nap time feeling full and satisfied. I am more than happy with all the bars that were sent to me and would love for you to try some too! Check them out and let me know what you think!
